Question Mesmer Dye Question

Hi all, thanks in advance.
I was wondering if any of you have found a dye combo that matches the purple in the Female Mesmer's underwear?
I really like the pastel look it has. I have tried several combos, but they didn't even come close.
Any help would be much appreciated.

trying to find a good quality image for reference but no luck yet, maybe ill just make one of my own and post it here?

Well, generally speaking, the same dye combo will affect different sets of armor in different ways or shades of color. So, your best bet is to get one or more of every shade of dye and experiment with them. Other than black and white this is not very expensive... I always suggest that everyone keep 1 of each color on hand in storage just for experimentations sake with new armor and weapons.

If you're going for a "pastel" look, you may have to invest in some white dyes, as they will wash out any color you combine them with. Also, using several of the same color will also make it a lighter version of that color, but you'll still have to add a secondary color, which again maybe white is the solution, or silver. Good luck!

Here's the link to the Mesmer section of the Post-Update Dye Guide in our Community Works section http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...97#post2896297

They are only use two dyes, but if you find something close perhaps you can try a third to lighten it.

Also, it would be helpful to mention which armor you're trying to dye, that way if someone has it, they can play around with the 3-4 dye combo possibilities for you.

Thanks for all of the great tips peeps!
I hv to find out the name of the leggings I am dying, but it will take a few days since my account has been banned!

Even though ANet banned me, I still feel like an (donkey). It was my fault but I honestly had no idea that Guildwars' economy was so realistic! Long story-short, I bought GW Platinum with real-life money and will NEVER do it again. I had no idea that Anet considers it illegal activity!
Apparently, a sudden influx of money like that can cause prices to skyrocket and values to depreciate.

So I formally and sincerely apologize to those that have been affected by my actions, especially to ANet and to my fellow players. Can you ever forgive me?
I just wanted to mod my girl...

The EULA agreement you accepted to play this game says you can't do it.

I wasn't looking for someone to blame, I admitted that it is my own fault. I didn't know it was against the rules. Besides does anybody actually read those?

Umm, I do. Plus they have that warning on the login screen.. not to kick you when you're down but common sense would seem to dictate that like every other online game ever created, cheating is wrong. And buying things in game for real money is cheating. Live and Learn.

As a general rule Mixing Blue and red, then adding another dye will give a more virbrant colour than just mixing purple with another

Silver dye often desaturates a combo while making it lighter, it also adds a shine

I debated with myself for a while as to whether or not i should continue this topic, but i still feel somewhat victimized so i must defend myself. I am gonna try very hard to not even come close to flaming and i do want to hear what everybody has to say so please let me hear just be considerate about it.
I joined Guildwars just after Prophecies came out so the idea of real money trading wasn't conceived also as far as the log in screen is concerned i use the auto login switch so that whole thing is by passed. Plus this is the ONLY online game i have EVER played, so i don't know of the etiquette, especially because I insist on soloing. I understand how the real money trading business actually works, but i didn't know about Bots or account theft. I don't even understand it, cuz there is no financial information associated with the game cuz of the lack of monthly fees, so what would be the point? But i now understand the dark underbelly and inner workings of such an operation.
but yes 'Live and Learn' is the moral of this story and i assure you I have learned my lesson. Today at 1pm the ban will be lifted and i can get a hold of the information u guys need for the original topic of this thread.

However, i have a question to ask all of you. If you have a legit account and you are a regular player with a very wealthy character, and you no longer wish to play, wouldn't it be understandable that yes I can give you this and that from my character, but what are you going to give me for all of my hard work? See the real moochers would be the ppl askin for a handout, that is what i thought was going on. That they were players like you and me (which they said on their site) with an abundance of gold they don't necessarily need anymore. So do you think the situation above would constitute as cheating? I sure as heck don't, it's bartering, common trade techniques. Right?

Ok so back on topic,
I think ill close this up afterwards as well.
I was using 'Courtly Hose' and i think the closest i got was Purple-White-Silver.
adding blue or red just turned it red and an extra purple made it darker.
Thanks again to all!
